Let me start out by saying that I really enjoy the Harry Potter books. They are fantastic and fun to read, with great heros and villians and great twists. I can't say that I'm a fan of the author though. There is a fansite that has decided to publish it's vast information on Harry Potter and She-who-must-not-be-named has decided to sue. Let me direct you to some one who is a much better writer than I am ----> Click Here!
OSC definatly has a way with words. And if you think it's all just sour grapes on his part check this out, and this too. Or if you don't want to click there here's a quote:
"If you love the Harry Potter books, then you are part of the best of contemporary American literature, not because the books have sold so phenomenally well, but because they are so phenomenally good, and millions upon millions of people have recognized it."
And in case you were wondering if he has any gay characters in his books... he does. Zdorab in the Homecoming Saga.
I know several people might be unhappy with me over a such anti-She-who-must-not-be-named post. But I had to put it up.

i had no idea this was such a big deal. i guess having not read HP i am not "in the know" about it. (yes, i haven't read them. don't think i ever will)
Wow, she is so stupid. I hope she realizes, as an additional kick in the nads, that after all this nonsense is through and Lexicon is published, that it will make way, way more money than it ever would have, because she's made it into such a spectacle. And because she's coming out looking like such a shrew about it all, her own planned encyclopedia's sales may just suffer a bit.
Nothing will tarnish my love for the books, but my affection for Rowling has plummeted ever since I started hearing about this a couple months ago.
Thanks for posting this, Joe.
I whole-heartedly agree with gd. Rowling is a punk but Harry Potter rules!! Although you should have Em read the Twilight series, she and you might love them as much as Potter! Ask Angie Larkin, she got me hooked!
